Club Storage and Cleaning Services

Our clubhouse enables us maximum room so please bring your clubs in for storage. We will assign them to their own rack and make sure they are properly tagged. Then, each time you come to play your clubs will be placed out for you or loaded onto a golf car. They will be cleaned when you finish your game and will be placed back in their stall.

If you feel that our outside service staff is taking care of your equipment in a superior manner, please feel free to "tip" them a dollar or two. Most outside staff are compensated near minimum wage and appreciate your generosity. This tipping is strictly voluntary on your part.

While in our care, we make every effort to take care of your equipment. Should yours be mishandled, please notify a member of the golf professional staff. Our Club service staff enjoys assisting the members. I am sure you will find them well-mannered and eager to please.

Please allow our staff to handle your golf bags and your guests' golf bags. They are instructed to do so, and your attention to this would be appreciated.

Please remember, adult club storage only (no junior clubs).

Private carts may not be stored at the Club.

The Driving Range

The driving range is an important and well-used part of our golf facility. Therefore, we buy quality range balls and our staff is required to clean them daily. The range area is well-kept and organized by staff at all times. It is our aim to provide you with an enjoyable environment in which to practice your game.

A mandatory annual fee provides the members unlimited range use. We ask that children of members make way for adult members when the range is full and space is limited. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

The range hours are dependent upon the amount of daylight and will close 1-1/2 hours before dusk. Normally, 2-3 buckets are left on the range for your use after hours. However, on some occasions, we will need to hand pick the range or pick the range clean for mowing purposes. On these occasions, the range balls will not be left on the tee.

Whenever time allows, the professional staff visits the range and dispenses a free tip or two to those practicing. Feel free to wave us down on those occasions if you could use our help or advice.

Note: Social/Athletic members may join the driving range for a fee of $300.00 per season for the whole family.

The Handicap System

Handicapping is a major function in golf and helps all to be competitive in club events and friendly games. At Medina Golf & Country Club, golfers must post their own scores. Before posting scores, adjust them according to the formula for Equitable Stroke Control. That formula can be found in the same posting area as the handicap computer, located adjacent to the Golf Shop.

If you are a new member, please check with the staff for an explanation of how your handicap is to be established. You will need seven scores to start a handicap. You must have an official handicap to participate in Medina Golf & Country Club events. The GHIN system is a simple system to use. However, if you need assistance with the handicap computer, please do not hesitate to ask one of the staff members.

Remember: Golf is an honorable game. In order to have an accurate handicap, all scores must be posted.

Golf Cars and Caddies

A sufficient number of golf cars are available at Medina Golf & Country Club. Please notify the staff in advance if possible of those in your group who ride and those riding together. A continued policy at MGCC regarding golf cars is that a member with three or more guests must take golf cars.

Golf cars should be properly used at all times, using available cart paths and following suggested operating procedures. Improper use of golf cars (driving too close to a green or tee, taking them across fairways during "path only times") may result in action from the Board of Directors.

You must have a valid driver's license to operate a golf car at MGCC. Using a golf car properly can prevent injury and damage to golf cars and also prevent damage to the golf course.

We will continue to try to provide our membership with caddie services. Please let us know in advance if you would like to have caddies for your group.

Each summer, we hold caddie-training sessions for youngsters in an effort to properly train them to be good caddies. We will do our best to have caddies here for you and your guests.

Guest Privileges

We realize that your guests are important to you and we as a professional staff are committed to making your day an enjoyable one. To ensure we are ready to accommodate your guests, please be sure to inform us of their names and any special needs you might have when you book your starting times.

Each member should acquaint themselves with guest rules located in the membership roster.

Games with the Professional Staff

One of the more enjoyable aspects of the professional staff's job is the opportunity to play golf with the members. Each golf professional is encouraged to play with the members as often as possible.

Each year we post Pro-Member events in the locker room. Please feel free to sign up for one of these events or simply ask one of the professionals for a game. We like to play this crazy game as much as you do.

We encourage each member to take advantage of this opportunity. Information and details are available in the Golf Shop. Our job is always governed by the daily events and needs of the entire membership. I am sure we can find time to play golf with you and enjoy the great game of golf.

Registration and Signing for Services

All golfers should register with the Golf Shop prior to play. As a member, you should know that all players are recorded on our daily starter's sheet. This allows us to check with whom you played, your pace of play, cart and guest fees, and any other charges you may have incurred. If from time to time you see charges on your account that you do not understand, please give us a call. Duplicates of all charges, as well as past starter sheets, are kept on file for future reference.

Club Repair Services

You Golf Shop offers a complete club repair center. We specialize in regripping, reshafting, refastening of club heads, loft/lie adjustments, and various other repairs and enhancements. We offer a number of great services and can complete most services in 24 hours or less. Our custom fitting and repair center provides the member with unique facilities.

Hole-In-One

Hole-In-One insurance is charged to the members of the Club and their spouses, unless you decline in writing before the first hole-in-one is made. When an ace is made, all accounts will be billed $4.00 automatically. All aces must have two witnesses and be made at Medina Golf & Country Club.
